Summary:
The Capital Markets analyst will gain exposure to all aspects of the commercial real estate finance securitization process, gained through experience, working on fixed-rate (CMBS) and floating-rate (CRE CLO) transactions. The analyst will be expected to work closely with all members of the team and manage multiple projects, possess strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills, as well as be a team player who displays initiative and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will work closely with multiple internal teams (Originators, Underwriters, Capital Markets, Asset Management and Finance) as well as securitization deal party members (deal partners, rating agencies, B-piece buyers) in all aspects of the securitization process.
- Assist in the securitization of fixed-rate and floating-rate loan transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and/or review of term sheet write-ups, and various marketing materials, including pre-sale reports.
- Formulate and manage multiple securitization tapes (preliminary, servicing, accounting, etc.) and work with third-party accountants to comfort and tie out securitization tapes and term sheet write ups.
- Manage multiple securitization data rooms, including collating, organizing, and sharing loan files with deal party members.
- Review asset summary reports and underwriting files and interact with origination and underwriting teams regarding loans scheduled for securitization.
- Independently work to provide responses to rating-agency questions regarding the collateral pool.
- Interact with third-party B-piece buyers, working to answer diligence and loan-structure questions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Mathematics or other related field preferred
- 1-2 years experience in a top-four accounting firm preferred
- Advanced Excel skills together with a proficiency in Word and Power Point is required
- Ability to analyze financial statements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; and ability to multi-task
- Experience with CMBS is a plus
- Highly motivated, independent worker within a team-oriented culture. Ability to work closely with others, as well as, independently to produce accurate, detailed work
- Familiarity with market analytical tools: Bloomberg, Costar, Trepp is a plus
