Job Description

Role Overview - Join as a Loan Documentation Specialist and use your skills to prepare and review loan documentation for a variety of loan types while ensuring compliance and accuracy We have two levels available for this role, matching your experience and expertise



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Loan Documents: Create documents for consumer, commercial, letters of credit, and commercial real estate loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Modify Loan Terms: Handle changes to original loan documents, including rate modifications and maturity date extensions.
  • Complete Required Documentation: Finalize all necessary loan documents such as UCC, flood hazard determinations, and loan checklists.
  • Utilize Software: Work with loan documentation and origination tools, including LaserPro, Encompass, Abrigo, and FIS.
  • High Volume: Draft and review 20+ loan documentation packages per month while maintaining exceptional accuracy and quality control.
  • Loan Documentation Specialist II (In addition to all I duties)
  • Complex Loan Prep: Prepare documentation for complex loans including construction, SBA, and other advanced products.
  • Escrow Instructions: Prepare and submit escrow instructions to title companies to ensure proper execution.
  • Comprehensive Documentation: Handle re-amortizing complex payment restructures and amend original loan documents as needed.
  • High Volume: Draft and review 30+ loan documentation packages per month while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Quality Control
  • File Analysis: Ensure all loan files have required due diligence and legal documentation before preparation.
  • Team Coordination: Work with loan officers, management, clients, and third parties to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Final Check: Provide final quality control of loan documents to confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Non-Essential Duties
  • Participate in special projects, research, and other tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Loan Documentation Specialist I

Education/Experience: High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of experience in loan documentation for various product lines.

Loan Documentation Specialist II

Education/Experience: High school diploma and 5 years of experience in loan documentation, including complex products.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of loan documentation methods and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with lien perfection requirements for various loan types.
  • Basic experience with loan origination software and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Loan Documentation Specialist II
  • In-depth knowledge of complex loan documentation, SBA regulations, and compliance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of verification requirements for different borrowing entities.

Proficiency with loan origination software and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
