ROLE PURPOSE


The Sustainability Manager will support the Senior Manager in leading global recycling, liquidation, and e-waste strategy and compliance team. Primary functions of the role are managing a team to ensure the deliverables are met, communication with multiple external vendors, oversee compliance, inventory management, annual audits, and the overall relationship between Asurion and external partners. Objective is to support all channels of Asurion business entities to provide guidance for disposing of e-waste in an efficient, cost effective, compliant, and responsible manner. This includes downstream optimization to drive performance to support AOP targets. The Manager will also be responsible for collecting data and coordinating reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) for internal and external QBR/MBR. As well as oversee daily recycling needs across all programs, process development, data accuracy, and other functions as needed. They will also need to be influential both internally and externally to advocate, influence, and drive results. Must be capable to operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision is essential to this position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develops and manages a high performing team that partners with vendors, internal customers, and other channel of business to provide e-waste solutions for the business.
  • Leads a team that is responsible for completing analysis and reports to support e-waste strategy, initiatives, QBR, MBR, and vendor performance.
  • Coach and mentor the team to continuously improve performance. Evaluate individual and team performance against agreed objectives and appropriate feedback.
  • Maintain a high level of morale and energy and ability to point to previous experiences where they have “energized” a team to perform and deliver against stretch expectations.
  • Maintains effective relationships and communication with vendors.
  • Advocate for responsible recycling by providing solutions to Asurion teams for disposing e-waste.
  • Become and serve as the “go-to” subject matter expert to Asurion’s internal teams on client contract terms, e-waste regulations, and vendor capabilities.
  • Supports operational activities of Quality management include communicating and resolving daily issues between internal organizations and recycling vendors.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure e-waste acknowledged and shipped to appropriate downstream for disposal in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Effectively assess individual e-waste requests to determine next step and final disposition that meet overall compliance requirements.
  • Attend operation and leadership meetings and provide updates as needed.
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested by manager.
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically (typically no more than once every 1-2 months).


QUALIFICATIONS


  • BA/BS Degree preferred + 1 year experience or Minimum 2+ years in supply chain, procurement, or quality related role.
  • 1 year leadership experience with direct reports
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver business needs
  • Possess strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Proficient leader with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to react, in a proactive way to ‘crisis’ situations
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills; effective communicator, comfortable engaging with clients at all levels of the business.
  • Effective interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Advanced computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Smart Sheet, and PowerPoint
