Overview: Our client, a leading financial institution in Tampa, Florida, is looking to add a seasoned Senior Commercial Lender to their team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced lending professional to manage and grow a substantial Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in C&I lending, with a preference for those who have a proven track record in managing large and complex loan portfolios. While experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending is valued, the primary focus for this role is on C&I lending.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Manage and enhance a diverse portfolio of C&I loans, ensuring the highest standards of credit quality and customer satisfaction.
- Client Relationship Development: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with mid-market and large corporate clients, delivering tailored financial solutions.
- Business Development: Drive new business acquisition within the C&I sector by identifying and pursuing lending opportunities, leveraging your industry network and market knowledge.
- Credit Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and credit risk assessments to support lending decisions, ensuring compliance with the bank’s risk management policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including credit analysts and underwriters, to structure and negotiate loan terms that meet both client needs and the bank’s risk appetite.
- Leadership: Mentor and provide guidance to junior lenders and credit analysts, contributing to the development of a high-performing team.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial lending, with a strong emphasis on C&I lending. CRE lending experience is a plus but not required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus.
Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, and a proven track record of successful portfolio management.
Network: Established network within the Tampa business community and a deep understanding of the local and regional market dynamics.
