This incumbent will provide executive-level leadership and guidance to LSMMD’s HR operations. The position is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant HR policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. Additionally, the position functions as LSMMD’s Compliance Official and Privacy Officer


JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define LSMMD’s long-term mission and goals and identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
  • Translates LSMMD’s strategic plans and goals into HR strategic and operational priorities.
  • Leads a team of HR and Talent Acquisition (TA) professionals in meeting and exceeding strategic and operational priorities.
  • Champions LSMMD’s ongoing goal to infuse our Core Values into every part of the organization’s culture. Plans, develops, and implements ways to accomplish this.
  • Serves as LSMMD’s Compliance Official, Privacy Officer, and primary liaison with our contracted Compliance Officer and compliance partner organization.
  • Develops and manages progressive compensation and benefits programs; negotiates vendor contracts
  • Develops and delivers trainings to current team members
  • Maintains proficiency of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management. Ensures compliance with employment, benefits and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Drafts and implements the HR department’s budget
  • Oversees LSMMD’s Human Resource Information System and electronic Performance Management system


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of Director level or above management experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certification as a PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-CSP preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of state and federal regulations and all aspects of Employment Law.
  • Ability to develop and implement a progressive “people” strategy for LSMMD and its affiliates.
  • Excellent verbal, public speaking, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied Human Resource information systems
  • Healthcare knowledge experience (LTC and/or Skilled Nursing) preferred
