As our Director of Marketing & Communications, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying our vision, engaging our expansive network, and leading strategic initiatives that spotlight our commitment to fostering a robust, sustainable, and innovative battery ecosystem worldwide. The Role

As the Director of Marketing & Communications at Volta Foundation, you will be the architect of our marketing vision, setting the strategic direction that will elevate our brand, expand our reach, and catalyze the growth of the global battery ecosystem. In this pivotal leadership role, you will craft and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, enhance our programming visibility, and widen our membership network. Your efforts will directly influence our standing and impact within the battery community, encompassing industry professionals, media, academia, and governmental bodies.


The ideal candidate should be ambitious, entrepreneurial, complemented by a robust portfolio in B2B marketing, communications, and brand stewardship. As a key staff reporting directly to the Executive Director, your strategic acumen and thoughtful implementation will be instrumental in shaping the Foundation's trajectory and the broader battery industry's future.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement marketing plans and communications strategies aligned with Volta's goals and values.
  • Collaborate with Volta’s leadership to set marketing objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).



Brand Management

  • Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all communication channels.
  • Protect and enhance the Foundation’s brand reputation and positioning.



Content & Events Marketing & Leadership

  • Direct the marketing efforts for Volta’s events and publications, from initial promotion through to post-event engagement, enhancing visibility and attendance.
  • Oversee the creation and strategic promotion of high-quality content, including articles, press releases, social media posts, and multimedia materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather information and insights for content development.



Digital Marketing

  • Lead digital marketing efforts, including social media management, website, email campaigns, and online advertising.
  • Monitor and analyze digital marketing performance, making data-driven adjustments to maximize impact.



Public Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and thought leaders in the battery industry.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization when needed.



Event Management

  • Plan and execute events, webinars, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and engage target audiences.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing and Communications in the technology, energy, or related industry. Experience in the battery industry is a plus.
  • Proven experience in B2B marketing, communications, and brand management, ideally within a related industry.
  • Metrics driven with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to innovation and achieve results.
  • Graphics design experience preferred
