WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?


  • Work corroboratively with sales and management staff in each market to develop and close new business.
  • Maintain and report to management, Target Accounts status in assigned markets.
  • Work with other Route Development Managers to share information on accounts and carrier developments.
  • Work closely with top customers in assigned trade lane to ensure customer satisfaction and other potential development.
  • Review, analyze and maintain management reports on Trade Lane volumes and yield performance.
  • Assist domestic field sales staff in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFQs), preparing presentations and monitoring sales leads and responses.
  • Maintain active working pricing modules for assigned trade lanes.
  • Maintain current office profiles of assigned trade lanes.
  • Develop and implement sales campaigns to take advantage of market opportunities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Company’s current products and services.
  • Visit existing and potential customers to enhance knowledge of local office operations and personnel.
  • Oversee and manage the professional development and productivity of staff members to ensure proper goals, training, professional development and project requirements are met.
  • Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and clients.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department and address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies of the Company.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.


WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and completion of the LDP Program. Minimum 5 years related experience required. Minimum 3 years industry experience preferred. Minimum 3 years supervisory or managerial experience required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic transportation, logistics and supply chain concepts. Experienced in the use of TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Knowledgeable in all modes of transportation and their costs and attributes. Strong knowledge of all products and services. Ability to manage the financial aspects of a department (purchasing, budget preparations and review, financial reporting and monitoring expenses).
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.
  • Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develop and sustain productive relationships.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop alternative solutions.

Experience Required

  • Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities and compare data from different sources to draw conclusions. Explore alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain all parties' support and acceptance.
  • Allocate decision-making authority and/or task responsibilities to others to maximize the organization's and individuals' effectiveness. Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in influencing departments and implementing and managing change.
  • Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
  • Use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team and facilitate the completion of team goals. Develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; develop individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas and appreciating others' efforts.
