Position Overview:

As the Key Account Manager (Technical Sales), you will play a critical role in driving the success of our client by managing and nurturing relationships with key accounts. You will serve as the primary point of contact for major clients, understanding their technical needs, and providing tailored solutions that align with their business objectives. Your ability to combine technical expertise with strong sales acumen will be essential in delivering exceptional value to our customers and achieving sales targets.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Account Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers. Act as the primary liaison between the client and the company, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  2. Technical Sales: Understand the technical requirements and challenges of customers, and provide expert guidance on how our products and solutions can meet their needs. Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers to showcase the value of our offerings.
  3. Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand business within existing key accounts and develop strategies to grow account revenue. Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet customer needs and drive sales growth.
  4. Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers, including setting goals, identifying opportunities, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  5. Customer Support: Provide ongoing support to key customers, addressing any technical inquiries or issues that arise. Work closely with the engineering and customer support teams to ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.
  6. Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Use this information to inform sales strategies and provide feedback to product development and marketing teams.
  7. Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with key accounts, ensuring that terms and conditions align with company objectives while meeting customer expectations.
  8. Reporting and Analysis: Monitor account performance, track sales metrics, and prepare regular reports for senior management. Use data-driven insights to refine account strategies and improve outcomes.
  9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product development, and marketing teams to ensure that customer feedback is integrated into product offerings and that technical solutions are effectively communicated.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced degree or relevant technical certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, account management, or a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and explain complex technical products and solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and grow key accounts.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and strategic account planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with key customers and attend industry events.
