Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Administrator with a strong background in networking technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco and Juniper equipment, VRF, BGP and various networking protocols. In addition, familiarity with Linux, IP address management, and the ability to upgrade and maintain network switches is essential. This role involves hands-on work in our lab environment, where you will be responsible for configuring, testing, and troubleshooting network hardware and software.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Configuration & Management: Configure and manage Cisco and Juniper devices, ensuring optimal performance of network infrastructure.
  • Routing & Protocols: Implement and maintain routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Manage VRF instances and IP address schemes.
  • Linux Administration: Utilize Linux systems for network-related tasks, such as scripting, monitoring, and basic system administration.
  • Switch Upgrades & Maintenance: Perform upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting on network switches and related hardware.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of network configurations, ensuring all systems meet performance standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers and other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of new devices and technologies into the existing network.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Certifications: CCNA or equivalent certification in Cisco. Juniper certifications or equivalent experience are highly desirable.
  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper devices, networking protocols, and Linux systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of VRF, BGP, and other routing protocols.
  • Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Juniper network equipment.
  • Basic to intermediate Linux administration skills.
  • Familiarity with IP address management and subnetting.
  • Experience with switch upgrades and network maintenance.
  • IPv6
  • Basic AWS networking
  • Experience with industry-standard networking monitoring tooling is highly desired.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of layer2 protocols and communication.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • This position will require work in a lab environment with networking equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of network hardware and the ability to work in confined spaces, such as server rooms, may be necessary.
