**Position Overview:**


As the Insurance Senior Accounting Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring the financial health of the organization, and providing strategic financial leadership. Your expertise in insurance accounting will be critical in managing financial risks, optimizing financial performance, and guiding key financial decisions.


**Key Responsibilities:**


- **Strategic Financial Leadership:** Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

- **Insurance Accounting Expertise:** Leverage your deep understanding of insurance accounting principles, regulations, and best practices to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

- **Financial Reporting:** Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to the board of directors, executive team, and other stakeholders.

- **Risk Management:** Identify and manage financial risks, including insurance-related risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.

- **Employee Benefits Management:** Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k) plans, and other employee-related financial benefits. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and optimize benefits offerings to support employee satisfaction and retention.

- **Team Management:** Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

- **Strategic Partnerships:** Collaborate with external auditors, insurance providers, and other financial partners to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

- **Regulatory Compliance:** Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations, standards, and insurance industry requirements.


**Qualifications:**


- **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

- **Experience:** Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior management role, preferably as a controller or equivalent. Significant experience in insurance accounting is required.

- **Skills:** 

 - In-depth knowledge of insurance accounting principles and regulations.

 - Proven track record of financial planning and analysis.

 - Strong experience in managing employee benefits programs, including 401(k) plans.

 - Strong leadership and team management abilities.

 - Excellent communication and presentation skills.
