This position entails evaluating loan proposals, serving as the primary line of defense, ensuring timely task completion, and overseeing loan analysis and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Credit Analyst department and support the lending operations of the Bank.
  • Guide, mentor, and train credit analysts and/or loan officers in assessing the financial history and statements of credit applicants to determine creditworthiness.
  • Examine financial stability, cash flow sufficiency, and compute relevant ratios to evaluate the likelihood of full repayment and the necessity for collateral or a guarantor.
  • Assist in preparing loan requests by conducting credit analysis and drafting credit memorandums for larger or more intricate loan applications for presentation to loan officers or committees.
  • Complete related special projects as required.
  • Provide support to lenders regarding policy and loan inquiries or issues.
  • Oversee hiring, daily operations, coaching, performance evaluations, and staff counseling.
  • Participate in job-specific and various training programs offered by the Bank.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting any suspicious or unusual customer activities in accordance with Bank policy, ensuring compliance by department personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to all federal and state laws, regulations, and established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls.
  • Stay informed about all rules, regulations, and laws related to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML, ensuring compliance by department personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to interpret Mexican financial statements.
  • Possession of any credit risk certifications is preferred.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience as a Credit Analyst, Credit Risk Analyst, or Loan Officer in a financial institution.
  • At least four years of prior management experience, which may include non-financial sectors but must encompass full management responsibilities such as hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Knowledge of commercial, trade finance, asset-based lending, loan documentation, financial statements, and cash flow analysis.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Word (basic functions).
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit risk.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks accurately amidst frequent interruptions.
