The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing software development projects for high-profile corporate customers. This individual serves as the primary project management lead, accountable for guiding various software projects through both planning and execution phases, thereby ensuring a predictable experience for employees and clients.
The PM will act as the central point of contact within the organization, coordinating communication and managing the status of software projects. This role requires strong customer-facing skills, with experience in guiding customers through the development process in a professional and engaging manner.
The PM is distinct from a Scrum Master or Product Manager and is responsible for addressing project progress, resource needs, task assignments, and resolving blockers. Using superior organizational and planning skills, the PM will maintain comprehensive knowledge of project statuses and advancements both internally and externally (with client dependencies).
The PM will liaise with development resources, QA, product management, account management, and leadership. They will participate in development standups and client success meetings, ensuring effective communication flow among all parties and synchronizing efforts. The PM will proactively steer projects, ensuring obstacles are removed and keeping leadership informed, making status and progress on all projects transparent within the organization.
This role necessitates regular interaction with product management to ensure that requirements are assigned, communicated, and prioritized effectively by product and engineering management. The PM must possess the expertise and knowledge necessary to ensure that product and project decisions are made and communicated appropriately, keeping projects on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Plan, facilitate, and administer assigned software development projects.
- Resource Coordination: Coordinate internal resources and development teams to ensure effective deployment of overall solutions.
- Technical Escalation: Serve as the first level of technical escalation for development issues for the assigned program team.
- Stakeholder Communication: Identify, assess, and communicate with all stakeholders, ensuring effective communication flow between development, QA, product management, account management, and leadership.
- Triple Constraint Management: Manage the triple constraints on any given project: Schedule, Cost, and Quality.
- Project Billing: Manage/initiate all project billing per the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Project Reviews: Participate in weekly project reviews with internal teams and clients.
- Documentation and Administration: Collect and maintain all required project artifacts, create change orders as needed, and provide timely and professional client service.
- Status Reporting: Provide concise and meaningful updates to leadership, report challenges and roadblocks, and propose remediation options.
Education and Experience:
- Education: BA/BS preferred and PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required
- Experience: 7+ years of project-related experience in software development and 5+ years working with enterprise software platforms as a project manager or in an equivalent project leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), project management methodologies, technology implementation, and experienced user of CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and communication skills, with a strong technical aptitude to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Key Competencies/Behaviors:
- Flexibility: Highly flexible and able to respond quickly to unforeseen changes in projects and customer requirements.
- Self-Motivation: Achievement-oriented with superior planning and time management skills.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to influence without direct authority.
- Professionalism: Professional demeanor with unquestionable integrity and a high level of attention to detail.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Ability to distill complex discussions into well-formed action plans, ensuring consistency, order, and good process execution.
Company Core Values:
- Passionate: We are a group of passionate people. We work hard and are proud of the results we produce each and every day, and we have some fun along the way
