Human Resources Payroll Coordinator

Dunham’s Sports opened its doors as Dunham’s Bait & Tackle in 1937 in the suburbs of Detroit. During the following years, Dunham’s prospered in the Detroit area as a specialty retailer of sporting goods. In 1985, we began to expand and opened several stores in the Midwest and are now operating over 250 stores across 25 states.
Job Summary
We are actively recruiting an HR/Payroll Coordinator. This is a full-time entry level hourly position that works on-site in our office in Troy, Michigan. The primary responsibility of this position is processing and auditing paperwork for a large volume of new hires for our stores across the country. This position is also responsible for assisting with reviewing the accuracy of our bi-weekly payroll.
Responsibilities
- Enter new hire information into our HRIS system
- Work with stores to ensure we receive all new hire paperwork
- Review new hire paperwork for accuracy
- Follow up on missing new hire paperwork
- Help resolve payroll and human resources related questions from our stores
- Review bi-weekly payroll records and follow up with stores on any discrepancies
- Filing
Skills and Abilities
- Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and UKG HRIS system
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow up actions
- Self-motivated
Experience
- Previous payroll and/or human resources experience
- Completed or currently pursuing degree in human resources
