Job Summary:


The Sales Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Walmart/Sam’s Club sales team by providing detailed sales analysis and insights. This individual will be responsible for analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and providing actionable recommendations to improve sales performance and drive business growth. The Sales Analyst will work closely with the sales team, marketing department, and other key stakeholders to ensure data-driven decision-making.


Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Utilize POS (point of sale) data to monitor sales performance and track key metrics.
  • Partners with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure product availability, shipment quality, and timely delivery. e.g., On-Time In-Full (OTIF) and Standard Quality & Equipment Performance (SQEP).
  • Provides reports for the Walmart sales team, identifying areas of opportunity and proposing strategies that align with the overall retail strategic business plans.
  • Assists with development and presentation of business reviews for Walmart’s merchandising team.
  • Initiates and leads strategic analytical projects to deliver sales insights and solutions using multiple data sources. Data platforms include: Luminate (Retail Link), SAP, Circana (IRI), Numerator, Global Replenishment Systems (GRS), etc.
  • Clearly and concisely creates compelling narratives tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Fosters collaborative partnerships and engage in strategic planning processes.
  • Monitors inventory levels and coordinate with replenishment to ensure DC and store instocks.
  • Manages Walmart Item 360 product portfolio and content updates.
  • Assists with trade spend management (i.e. Blacksmith application).
  • Creates clear and concise data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written & verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possesses the ability to collaborate with leaders and cross-functional groups to identify issues, determine relevant data and analyses, and present actionable insights.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to analyze complex data from various sources and deliver actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong project management, decision-making, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience negotiating and influencing decisions within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Thorough understanding of financial data/business acumen, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) with advanced skills in Excel.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales analysis, business analysis, or related role required.
  • Prior experience in retail, ecommerce, or wholesale corporate environment is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Luminate (Retail Link), along with working knowledge of SAP, trade management systems, and syndicated data [Circana (IRI) or Nielsen] is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment with telephones, personal computers, and printers.
  • The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.
  • Sedentary position, when not traveling with seldom to occasional lifting of less than 25 pounds.
  • May require standing less than or equal to 1/3 of the day.
  • Ability to collaborate virtually with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
