The nation's largest network of dental labs is looking for a Fixed Department Manager to join their lab in Rocky Hill. The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position featuring employee benefits including: health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; paid holiday, vacation, and sick time; 401K with company contribution; and tuition reimbursement


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Act as liaison and intercessor between Department Managers and General Manager.
  • Communicate with Sales/Marketing about ideas for upcoming promotional events.
  • Insure we have adequate equipment and staff to support sales.
  • Communicate with Doctor Relations Team and Supervisors to ensure our customers’ needs are being met.
  • Education and training for Managers.
  • Assist in training new technicians on all phases of products.
  • Assists with product pricing and task values.
  • Perform evaluations of managers and technicians at their appropriate intervals.
  • Budget yearly payroll increases for non-production team members
  • Complete appropriate forms documenting absences due to illness, vacation, tardiness, etc.
  • Perform any necessary disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor production flow to prevent unnecessary overtime.
  • Plan improvements in techniques and work flow.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must have computer skills including typing and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Verbally communicate with all levels of staff, leadership and customers maintaining a positive demeanor and nurturing teamwork.
  • Must be familiar with Performance Management processes, Project Management, Coaching, Quality Management, and Developing Standards.
  • Must be a results driven individual.
  • Understands the importance of, and has the ability to, foster teamwork
  • Takes initiative.
  • Has excellent listening skills.
  • Attention to detail.


Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Required: College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Required: 5+ years manufacturing experience.
  • Required 5+ years of management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years dental technician experience, exhibiting competency in area of expertise in order to guide and train others.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, obtained through experience or recognized through observation.
