Deloitte is recruiting staff for our GPS international energy programs. These programs focus on expanding the supply of clean, affordable electricity, advanced energy technologies, and associated policy and technology at the national, regional, and local levels. Other objectives include:

Supporting government agencies to develop and implement energy transition strategies to meet their emissions reduction commitments.

Improving the technical and institutional capacity and performance of domestic and international utilities and power sector entities as they seek to build a more clean and resilient power grid.

Helping clients better accelerate and prepare for transportation electrification in their jurisdictions.

Supporting policy and regulatory efforts that will accelerate the above interventions.


To support these programs, Deloitte is recruiting a part-time independent consultant to serve as an EU Power Markets Specialist to support a variety of activities to achieve the above objectives.


Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant field, particularly in the energy sector with a minimum 7 years of related experience

Experience with generation, transmission and / or distribution planning

Grid management and control systems and architecture

Experience designing or working in EU wholesale power markets, as a planner, trader or in another capacity

Knowledge of ENTSO-E rules and methodologies, including for transmission planning and investment

Demonstrated experience building consensus and achieving collaborative solutions among a diverse set of stakeholders

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to solve complex problems

Ability to write, communicate, and prepare engagement materials fluently in English

Strong business writing and presentation skills and ability to develop written materials



Preferred

Experience working in an interdisciplinary work environment

Experience working in emerging markets and with government stakeholders

Experience with international donors and international finance institutions
