Our plant located in Newark (California) is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team
Responsibilities
- At Plant level, provide Lean Manufacturing expertise and coaching (HSE, Quality, Employee Empowerment, PC&L and Production system) based on our 11 Lean Manufacturing principles to contribute to achieve operational business targets.
- Accountable for the Plant direct labor cost budget construction & achievement, through efficient “direct labor cost management” & “direct labor cost improvement plan”.
- Animate the Lean Manufacturing network within the plant as well as participate to the Division network.
- Contribute to the definition of the Plant Improvement Plan to achieve the budget.
- Lead construction and follow up of the Lean Manufacturing deployment plan, to support the Plant Improvement Plan (PIP) execution.
- Ensure understanding at plant level of Lean Manufacturing KPIs and the link with P&L results to properly prioritize the Lean Manufacturing plan.
- Provide, according to the needs, Lean Manufacturing knowledge and skills to the plant team through training and coaching.
- Contribute to the application and /respect of Lean Manufacturing Principles in Programs from design stage (lean process design, MIFD, validation of Equipment design, cardboard workshop activities, Standardized Work (SW), OHP, process layout, packaging, etc..).
- Be an active change agent within their site, by cultivating a Lean Manufacturing mind-set /concept.
- Ensure routing and coefficient data management methodology is correctly applied and respected, for direct standard and actual Labor cost accuracy.
- Contribute to direct labor budget construction (Direct Labor Efficiency (DLE), Direct Labor Productivity (DLP), and productivity plan).
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
- Recommended 3 years of working experience within a production environment
- Network animation, coaching, and influencing/persuasion skills
- Ability to train and coach within all levels of the plant
- Ability to master change
- Continuous improvement mind-set
- Understand basic P&L and operational levers
- Problem diagnosis and analytic skills to understand contexts and define/support the definition of action plans
