Experience with AutoSPRINK, HydroCAD, or SprinkCAD is preferred. Job Description

  • Design fire suppression systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and foam fire sprinkler systems.
  • Prepare detailed shop drawings, including field installation drawings and hydraulic calculations, and provide field engineering support.
  • Compile and prepare plan submittals and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities.
  • Coordinate fire sprinkler design with building structure and other MEP subcontractors.
  • Prepare project material stock lists for procurement and assist with field engineering troubleshooting and support.
  • Create "as-built" drawings for internal records and client files.
  • Understand job costs related to engineering, materials, fabrication, and labor.
  • Work productively to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others, both individually and in a team setting.
  • Perform work safely and adhere to instructions and policies.
  • Organize and complete work within deadlines during normal operating hours.
  • Willing to teach and mentor others.

Skills Required

  • 3-5 years of design experience required.
  • Experience with AutoSPRINK, HydroCAD, or SprinkCAD preferred.
  • NICET certification strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and AutoCAD preferred.


Education/Training/Certifications

  • An associate degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. However, 6+ years of design and construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of fire sprinkler design experience for construction is required.


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
