Fire Sprinkler System Designer

A Fire Sprinkler System Designer will be part of a collaborative team of designers that prepare submittal and field installation drawings, hydraulic calculations, and submittal data for fire protection systems based on NFPA code standards, the International Building Code (IBC), and Local Authority or fire marshal requirements.

Responsibilities include designing fire suppression systems, detailing shop drawings including field installation drawings & hydraulic calculations, and overseeing jobsite support & field installation support.

Project scheduling and management are also key responsibilities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule.

A 23-month training course is provided, involving several weeks in the field with installers and a 2-week design course to learn AutoSPRINK and work on a sample project in the office.

Pay rate: $25-30/hr.

Required skills include design or drafting experience relating to construction, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, etc., and experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or Revit.

Nice to have skills include a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, CAD, Drafting or Design, or related, and AutoSPRINK or HydroCAD experience.
