Telecom Designer Job Description

Olsson's Facility Engineering and Design (FED) Team is a leader in engineering innovation, providing comprehensive services for data centers, healthcare facilities, large commercial developments, educational institutions, and military installations. Our expertise includes technical analysis, design services, and professional consulting, ensuring top-tier quality and world-class installations.

As a Telecom Designer for Olsson on the FED Team, you will be responsible for working in a collaborative design environment to design low-voltage, telecommunications, and audio/visual systems within the built environment. This will include but is not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize CAD/BIM software to support intricate engineering designs, focusing on data center and building systems cable routing, equipment layouts, and communication systems.
  • Contribute to projects under the guidance of experienced designers, ensuring high-quality outputs and innovative solutions.
  • Assist in managing project components, paying close attention to detail and precision from start to finish.
  • Participate in client meetings, showcasing Olsson's commitment to excellence and strong partnerships.
  • Be prepared to travel to job sites as necessary, adapting to various conditions to achieve project success.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • An Associate degree in Drafting and Design is preferred.
  • 3+ years of CAD/BIM experience, with proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD considered a plus.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills in complex engineering drawing design and layout.
