About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects, performing routine mechanical engineering assignments, and writing and editing mechanical specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
  • Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices
  • Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis, and mechanical equipment selections
  • Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
  • Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
  • Take responsibility for construction contract administration, including field inspections and conflict resolution
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE, or similar software, and equipment selection software
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Healthcare, Science and Technology, and/or Civic facilities experience
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
