Position Overview:


The Internal Communications Intern will assist in driving strategic communication initiatives within our organization. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate communication, working directly with the Director of Internal Communications. The intern will contribute to projects that engage and inform our diverse workforce, aligning with our company’s goals and values.

Please note: This position will be on-site at the Gardena, CA WSS headquarters. In-office days will be Tuesday-Thursday, 20-25 hours per week.


Responsibilities:

·       Support the execution of our employee-first news and editorial content strategy that educates, engages, and inspires team members.

·       Assist in developing communications related to key business strategies, new hire announcements, holiday announcements, etc.

·       Help manage content across various communication channels such as LinkedIn.

·       Collaborate with different departments to ensure consistency in messaging and timeliness in the distribution of company updates.

·       Participate in the operational activities of Employee Resource Groups, assisting in the communication of cultural events and initiatives.

·       Aid in preparing content for internal events, such as Town Hall Meetings.

·       Collect and analyze feedback on internal communications to help refine and improve strategies.

·       Support the integration of internal and external communication strategies.

·       Engage in projects and responsibilities as assigned to support the communications team.


Qualifications:

·       Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

·       Strong written and oral communication skills.

·       Proficient in Office 365 and familiar with digital communication tools.

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple projects.

·       Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving.

·       Ability to work collaboratively with a team or independently with minimal supervision.

·       Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
