Role: Data Strategy Lead

Location: Charlotte, NC / Jacksonville, FL/ Richmond, VA


Job Summary:

The Data Strategy Lead will define and implement the data framework, focusing on aligning business objectives with data-driven insights. This role will influence business owners and sponsors by demonstrating the value of Predictive data models and analytics, comprehensive data management practices and Regulatory & Compliance . The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen ( Merchant, Climate, FRR/NFRR), a deep understanding of data strategy, and the ability to communicate effectively with business leaders.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Strategy and Framework Development:
  • Define and implement a robust data strategy and framework.
  • Develop canonical conceptual data models to standardize data management across the organization.
  • Ensure data frameworks support business goals and enable data-driven decision-making.
  1. Predictive Data Models & Analytics:
  • Showcase the value proposition of predictive modeling for optimizing operations and gaining a competitive edge.
  • Develop sophisticated algorithms and models for fraud detection, risk assessment, and customer segmentation.
  • Implement predictive analytics to provide actionable insights for various business units.
  1. Data Modeling and Data Management:
  • Strengthen EISA's data infrastructure to facilitate efficient data modeling and management.
  • Standardize data management practices to reduce development time and costs.
  • Mitigate risks associated with data governance and ensure robust data quality controls.
  • Streamline data collection, processing, and utilization related to climate conditions and merchant transactions.
  1. Regulatory & Compliance:
  • FRR and Non FRR
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards, focusing on climate and sustainability.
  • Refine data-driven strategies to comply with evolving ESG regulations.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement and Influence:
  • Position as a strategic partner to address critical business challenges across different departments.
  • Secure funding and resources by demonstrating the potential ROI of data modeling capabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with business leaders, focusing on business and data rather than technology.
  1. Fraud Detection:
  • Develop and deploy models to identify and prevent fraudulent transactions.
  1. Risk Assessment:
  • Evaluate creditworthiness for loan applications and prioritize potential risks.
  • Minimize financial losses due to defaults or fraud and enhance regulatory compliance.
  1. Customer Segmentation:
  • Identify customer groups with distinct needs and preferences.
  • Develop targeted marketing campaigns and product offerings to improve customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Provide insights to business and sales teams to enable a better customer experience.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or Masters in computer science, system analysis, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10+ years of Experience with Data Strategy, Data Architecture, Data Engineering & Data Management
  • Experience in Maintaining and Developing Modern Data Architecture (i.e., Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh/Products, Data Market Place)
  • Strong process/systems analysis, design, and documentation
  • Strong Understanding of Risk Management and Data Management Principles
  • Ability to monitor tight deadlines and adapt to unexpected requirement changes.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work on one’s own with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in high-pressure situations.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with one of the following areas – Trading, Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, Transaction Banking
  • Big Data Architecture, Cloud Data Platforms Architecture (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake), In-house Big Data Platforms (Hadoop, Teradata, Exadata)
  • Data Virtualization Tools (i.e., Trino, Dremio)
  • Data Sourcing Movement Tools (Real Time and Batch)
  • Understanding or experience of programming in SQL, C/C++, Java, Python
