The Director, Housing & Financial Stability leads the organization’s helpline and housing services including emergency safe house and housing first services. The position is responsible for building community partnerships and identifying resources and trends that impact service delivery; guiding best practices within a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, Housing- First service model; defining the program’s strategic direction; participating in long-range planning; directing and coordinating the implementation of plans for developing and expanding services in alignment with organizational, ethical, and client centered practices, community need and grant and fiscal compliance. The position will serve as a member of the organization’s leadership team to ensure consistency, collaboration, and service quality.


What the Director, Housing & Financial Stability is responsible for:

· Leadership and Management

o Responsible for the direction and supervision of housing and helpline services including the organization’s 24/7 helpline, emergency safe house, and housing first program.

o Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of housing and helpline program policies and practices; ensuring that all are trauma- informed, equitable, and survivor centered to meet client needs, reflect organizational Core Values, and satisfy regulatory requirements.

o Responsible for all facets of Performance Management (hiring, supervision, training, and development) for staff and volunteers of the housing and helpline programs.

o Support the organization’s workplace culture that includes attention to safety, transparency and trust, peer support, collaboration, empowerment, and choice.

o Oversee service delivery. Ensure timely and accurate data collection and completion of required program reporting.

o Provide strategic direction, guidance and advocacy for programs, staff, volunteers, the organization, and the community.

o Provide ongoing quality assurance and annual assessment of housing and helpline services to ensure programs meet community and client needs.

o Collaborative responsibility with the Director of Outreach and Prevention, for the oversight, training, and management of volunteers for housing and helpline services.


· External Partnerships and Community Education

o Lead relationship manager responsible for strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance and expand the network of community resources, program response and facilitate access to services for survivors.

o Participate in long-range strategic planning and vision casting. This may include participating in RFPs and project preparations, implementing plans for developing and expanding services, and quality assurance in existing service delivery.

o Regularly attend collaborative, community, and program significant meetings.

o Supports facilitation and instruction for staff and volunteers in bi-annual 60-hour domestic and sexual violence training program to ensure compliance with New Jersey Crime Victim Counselor Privilege regulations and NJCEDV guidelines.

o Lead partner with Manager, Outreach and Education and Outreach Department for

development and execution of community outreach and training efforts to increase awareness of crisis response teams and promote volunteer recruitment efforts.


· Reporting and Documentation

o Responsible for all facets of documentation policies ensuring that policies adhere to data reporting requirements and ethical data management practices.

o Oversees implementation of daily data management operations with a focus on quality assurance and comprehensive reporting in alignment with policies.

o Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as requested to support organizational and funding requirements.


· Organizational

o Serves in an organizational leadership role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

o Participates in organizational, department and team meetings/committees and trainings as requested.

o Support organizational development efforts, including grant writing, special events, donor meetings and related activities.

o Any other duties as assigned and deemed necessary for the continuation and improvement of the program and/or organization.


· Supervisory

o Manager, Housing & Helpline Services

o Financial Empowerment Center Advocates Program Volunteers


What experience we are looking for:

· Bachelor/master’s degree in social work, Human Services, or related field preferred.

· Minimum of five years’ experience in domestic and/or sexual violence, or other crisis service in a residential setting preferred.

· Minimum of five years’ housing, case management and advocacy experience.

· Minimum three years’ supervisory experience in crisis response environment.

· Knowledge of Housing First model, a plus.

· Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault 60 hr. training certificate a plus

· Trauma Informed training and/or certifications preferred.

· Experience working with a Board of Directors

· Fluent in Spanish a plus

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, database navigation, remote communication, and virtual work technology.


Requirements of Employment

· Background Check: Satisfactory result required upon hiring and every 3 years to maintain employment.

· Completion of mandatory 60-hour training in Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault within the first 90 days of employment.

· Completion of Trauma 101 Training within first 6 months of employment.

· Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

· Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.

· Required to occasionally move about inside and outside the office to meet with clients and constituents, and access file cabinets and office machinery, and move boxes and materials, up to 20 lbs.

· Staff may be required to work outside of their normally designated work hours to include evening hours, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
