Freelance Sourcing/Production Childrens Apparel and Accessories

We are hiring a sourcing/production expert to join our team for a short-term (up to 6 months) project of transitioning our manufacturing to South Asia and LATAM. The temporary role will report to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and is responsible for day-to-day counter sourcing/product costing/production activities. This person in this position will work closely with cross-functional partners in Product Development, Production and Logistics.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage counter sourcing sample review process and assessments across multiple suppliers and countries. Partner with key decision makers in the process.
  • Collect and analyze costs across multiple suppliers and categories to summarize opportunities
  • Partner closely with Director of Strategic Sourcing to onboard new suppliers based on supplier expectations
  • Collect, assess and manage new supplier onboarding documentation
  • Assist QA department in managing samples process for testing
  • Partner with Planning department to manage production transitions to secondary vendors


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5-7 years of overseas factory/vendor management experience
  • Experience managing manufacturing/production time and action calendar, key milestones and lead-times
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Experience and confidence in handling direct cost negotiation, import international commercial terms and landed cost fundamentals
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent Excel and MS Office skills (intermediate a minimum)
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities in response to fluid business needs
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of HTS commodity codes and duty impacts across categories, fabrications is a plus
  • Prior experience in both soft goods and hard goods preferred.
