AUTO PHYSICAL DAMAGE CLAIMS ADJUSTER - DIRECT HIRE

Our client, The Hanover Insurance Group, is seeking a skilled Auto Claims Adjuster to join the team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling auto physical damage claims in a timely and fair manner. This role requires quick response, efficient assessment, and empathetic communication with claimants who have experienced loss.


Location:

Hybrid in Richmond, VA.

***Availability to commute to the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.


Pay:

$50K – $60K/yearly - APD Adjuster

$60K - $65K/yearly - Senior APD Adjuster

***Based on number of years of experience and qualifications.


Key Responsibilities:

You will be fully responsible for the analysis, evaluation, negotiation and finding a resolution for the claims that requires thorough investigations including getting on the telephone/emailing contacts with the involved parties; own the full cycle of the claims that are assigned to them.

·Investigate auto physical damage claims by gathering information from policyholders, witnesses, and other relevant parties.

·Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the extent of damage through physical inspections or by reviewing photos and reports.

·Estimate repair costs using specialized software and industry knowledge.

·Determine liability by analyzing all collected information, including police reports and witness statements.

·Negotiate settlements with policyholders, claimants, and repair shops to reach fair and equitable resolutions.

·Process claim payments to policyholders or repair shops promptly.

·Maintain detailed and accurate records of the claims process, including all communications, inspections, estimates, and settlements.

·Provide excellent customer service by assisting policyholders throughout the claims process and addressing any questions or concerns.

·Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

· Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and changes in regulations to effectively handle claims.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience adjusting auto claims.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., insurance, business administration, finance) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of auto repair processes, parts, and labor costs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed for vehicle inspections.


Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Xactimate system or claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, handle high-stress situations and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of empathy and customer service orientation
