Skokie, United States M & M Equipment Corp. Full time

About Us:

M&M Equipment and M&M Auctions specialize in buying, selling, and auctioning used industrial machinery for the food industry. We work with manufacturers, processors, and other stakeholders to deliver efficient solutions for surplus and idle equipment. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and drive supply-side growth across our operations.

Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding our equipment sourcing, auction opportunities, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building relationships, a keen eye for identifying opportunities, and the ability to collaborate across departments to drive success. This is a dynamic role that offers an exciting mix of business development, strategic planning, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing Equipment: Proactively identify and secure opportunities for M&M Equipment and M&M Auctions to purchase inventory, broker, or consign industrial food equipment.
  • Auction Opportunities: Locate and close auction deals by identifying manufacturing facilities or companies with surplus or idle equipment that can be liquidated.
  • Auction Management: Collaborate with the executive team to manage the entire auction process, including preparation, execution, and post-sale follow-ups, ensuring seamless operations and client satisfaction.
  • Inventory Oversight: Work with team members to supervise the inventory listings process, ensuring incoming equipment is accurately assessed, organized, photographed, and entered into our system promptly.
  • Supply-Side KPIs: Own and track all supply-side performance metrics, including equipment acquisition, auction conversions, and other key indicators of success.
  • Market Research and Networking: Conduct ongoing market research to identify industry trends, potential clients, and opportunities for growth. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including food manufacturing companies, plant managers, and industry professionals.
  • Client Development: Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers and clients, becoming a trusted advisor to help them maximize the value of their surplus equipment.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside sales, marketing, and the shop team to ensure alignment on strategic goals and facilitate smooth execution of projects.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve sourcing, auction execution, and inventory processes for greater efficiency and profitability.
  • Travel and Representation: Represent M&M Equipment and M&M Auctions at manufacturing facilities, industry events, conferences, and client meetings to expand our presence and reputation within the market.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the industrial machinery or food manufacturing industry.
  • General understanding of the auction process or experience managing end-to-end sales or project cycles.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and a network within the food manufacturing sector is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to track and report on performance metrics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients, attend events, and represent the company.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation package, including performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health care benefits for you and your family.
  • 401K and profit sharing plan
  • Opportunities for professional growth within a growing organization.
  • A dynamic and supportive work environment that values innovation and collaboration.

If you’re ready to make an impact and help drive the growth of M&M Equipment and M&M Auctions, we’d love to hear from you.
