Overview:

Ledgent Technology is assisting a valued client in the search for a IT Support Specialist. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for technical issues via phone, email, in-person, or remote support. The IT Support Specialist will log and resolve service tickets, and escalate complex issues when needed. Also, the individual will assist the Information Technology Manager with a variety of other technical duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues via phone, email, in-person, or remote support. Log and resolve service tickets, escalating complex issues when needed.
  • Install, maintain, and repair all computer hardware systems including printers, servers, communication, and network related equipment.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and resolves computer related problems. Resolves compatibility problems. Troubleshoots system software, hardware, and communication problems, recommends, and implements changes and improvements.
  • Troubleshoots diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, and operator problems
  • Installs, configures, and supports hardware and software, operating systems, peripheral equipment and VHA's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). Maintains network hardware and software. Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability.
  • Assist Development department during new construction projects to ensure all IT concerns are adequately addressed.
  • Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
  • Monitors system security. Identifies unauthorized access and potential security risks and makes recommendations on security enhancements.
  • Provides technical assistance in the development of policies and procedures related to system availability, security, and related services. Maintains operational practices to support policies and procedures.


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer related technology computer science, MIS or related subject OR at least 5 years of recent experience in an equivalent capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in and working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop; Exchange Online, Office 365, SharePoint, Azure Files Services; Azure Active Directory, Windows Service management.
  • Experience administering local and cloud-based computer hardware and telecommunications functions strongly preferred.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required to communicate effectively with staff and other work contacts and to provide timely and positive customer service.
  • Familiarity with multiple systems and techniques of installation and configuration; network switches, firewalls, VPN's, VOIP systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, configure and install system and network hardware and software.
  • Ability to maintain computer security and integrity.
