ASMPT is a leading global supplier of hardware and software solutions for the manufacture of semiconductors and electronics.


We are seeking a Sourcing Engineering candidate to support our Supply Chain organization by offering engineering and technical expertise. This role involves evaluating supplier processes and driving improvements in on-time delivery and manufacturing efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineering, to enhance supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical support to the Sourcing department by identifying and resolving supply base issues in collaboration with Purchasing, Suppliers, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Support the identification and development of new suppliers to increase competition and address supply vulnerabilities.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers to enhance communication and improve on-time delivery through constraint identification and improved planning and scheduling methods.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Design Engineering teams to provide supplier-focused Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback during product redesigns.
  • Capture and analyze lessons learned from supplier engagements to inform future procurement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement requirements by providing technical input on single/sole source justifications, process outlines, and independent cost estimates.
  • Potential for international travel to suppliers to identify manufacturing issues, address capacity concerns, and improve scheduling.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
  • Strong understanding of MRP scheduling and Bill of Material structures in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Ability to evaluate design changes and determine their impact on manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), and presentation skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, particularly in managing tight feature tolerances and addressing part deviations.
