**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Engineer to join our Supply Chain organization. The successful candidate will provide technical support to our Sourcing department by evaluating supplier processes and driving improvements in on-time delivery and manufacturing efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Supplier Evaluation and Improvement**: Provide technical support to the Sourcing department by identifying and resolving supply base issues in collaboration with Purchasing, Suppliers, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
  • **Supplier Development**: Support the identification and development of new suppliers to increase competition and address supply vulnerabilities.
  • **Relationship Management**: Foster strong relationships with suppliers to enhance communication and improve on-time delivery through constraint identification and improved planning and scheduling methods.
  • **Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Feedback**: Collaborate with Supply Chain and Design Engineering teams to provide supplier-focused DFM feedback during product redesigns.
  • **Lessons Learned and Procurement Strategies**: Capture and analyze lessons learned from supplier engagements to inform future procurement strategies.
  • **Compliance and Technical Input**: Ensure compliance with procurement requirements by providing technical input on single/sole source justifications, process outlines, and independent cost estimates.
  • **International Travel**: Potential for international travel to suppliers to identify manufacturing issues, address capacity concerns, and improve scheduling.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
  • Strong understanding of MRP scheduling and Bill of Material structures in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Ability to evaluate design changes and determine their impact on manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), and presentation skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, particularly in managing tight feature tolerances and addressing part deviations.
