Project Summary:

This project focuses on improving the properties of biological fibers using novel biochemical techniques. You will be responsible for preparing the biological materials and testing them using a variety of biological, chemical, and physical analytical methods.

This position is in-office in our Cambridge, MA laboratory. 


Responsibilities:

  • Secure, source, and maintain the biological materials according to the research needs
  • Operate mechanical and analytical instruments to monitor the biological materials
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks
  • Design, optimize, troubleshoot, execute, and analyze various experiments to support research & development (R&D) projects in our pipelines. 
  • Help develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain all other laboratory-related documents. 
  • Foster a collaborative environment where a team of highly skilled and specialized colleagues can conduct biological and computational experiments, encouraging trust and effective decision-making. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Biology, Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field
  • Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with an ability to thrive in multi-tasked and fast-paced environments. 
  • Thrive in a multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment.
