Department Overview

Gas Operations supervises natural gas transmission and distribution operations, managing thousands of miles of pipelines, numerous gas services, storage facilities, compressor stations, and measurement facilities with a large team of coworkers.

Position Summary

Responsible for Operator Qualification (OQ) assessments to ensure technical and craft employees maintain skill competence and safety standards. Administers various tests to confirm job performance adheres to regulations.

The compensation for this position ranges from $49.03 to $77.88 hourly.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts Gas OQ evaluations per regulations focusing on specific skill areas such as leak survey, plastic, or measurement.
  • Coaches employees through qualification tests and field observations, addressing skill gaps and issues.
  • Ensures qualification processes are followed and records are maintained.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to enhance evaluation processes.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of job-related technical experience.
  • Ability to travel extensively and lift heavy objects.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Certifications like AWS-CWI and NACE.
  • 5 years of gas utility industry experience.
