Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for an Operations Intern position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.
Job Summary:
This position will assist with a variety of tasks within the Operations division in a corporate environment, while working alongside a seasoned team of professionals. The Operations Intern will be exposed to a broad variety of practices and processes while focusing on learning and developing. The overall objective of the Operations Intern position is to gain experience and applicable exposure, while assisting in efforts that will ultimately help to achieve department objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Facilities Process Improvement/Manufacturing Engineering
Assists with a current projects.
Works closely with Process Improvement intern and works on the energy savings program.
2. Planning/Purchasing/Production Scheduling
Assists with inventory control/management and cycle counting.
Works closely with Inventory Control Analyst to gain understanding of inventory management and cycle counting process.
3. Engineered Lab/G2 Production
Job shadows and assists with small dia Axius production
Works closely with Rupture Disc Operator 3 to job shadow and assist with production (no equipment operation).
4. Logistics/Traffic/Compliance
Focuses on compliance and International Trade.
Works closely with Transportation and Compliance Manager to job shadow and assist with work flow (tariff code assignments, international freight, etc.).
5. TOC Training/The Goal
Assists with new employee TOC dice games - the TOC Engagement team will provide the presentation and training.
Works closely with Executive Director, Operations, who will provide support throughout process.
6. Weekly One:One
Will participate in weekly meetings with Executive Director, Operations throughout internship program.
Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Work Environment:

Proper safety
guidelines must be adhered to.
Job Qualifications:
REQUIRED: High School Diploma in progress. Intermediate knowledge and skill using Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and proficiency using other software applications, including Adobe and Google Docs. Must be able to meet new challenges and work with a variety of personalities. Must have a basic understanding of the responsibilities of working in an office setting. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and customer/industry standards.
