As a Sr. Buyer, 50% of your day will bespent filling the role of purchasing ambassador for your assignedportfolio of top tier high volume Suppliers ensuring accurate andtimely flow of both information and supply. You will work withdirectly with vendors to create sustainable and successfulpartnerships to add value for our vendors, our customers, and ourcompany.

The remaining 50% of your time will begeared towards people management and development as you oversee ateam of Junior Buyers and Purchasing Administrators. In this roleyou will own the metrics and performance of your team and you willdevelop the leadership skills necessary to advance into leadershiproles with larger scope and financial responsibility within thecompany.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Purchasing Manager to defineand execute purchasing strategy
  • Support andoversees a team of Junior Buyers and PurchasingAdministration
  • Maintain and drive improvementon key purchasing and service metrics included on teamscorecard
  • Establish and maintains a positiveworking relationship with suppliers. Confers with vendors to obtainproduct or service information such as price, availability, anddelivery schedule.
  • Negotiate pricing and leadtimes according to knowledge of the market
  • Prepare standard purchase orders and works with corporateStrategic Sourcing to establish favorable blanket purchaseorders
  • Report, interpret, and driveimprovement of key performance indicators
  • Resolve inventory, invoice, or other discrepancies in atimely manner
  • Approve invoices forpayment
  • Expedite delivery of goods tousers
  • Participate in various continuousimprovement projects as required
  • Perform otherduties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required
  • BS Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 6years of experience in Purchasing required withoutDegree.
  • Proven track record of simplifyinglarge, complex problems with multiple data sources & techniquesto reveal data-driven insights & actionable solutions thatdrive business results
  • Must be able tomulti-task and must be detail oriented
  • Must bea problem solver and demonstrate good negotiation skills
  • Strong negotiation, decision making and organizationalskills
  • Working knowledge of Purchasing relatedduties and responsibilities
  • Proficiency withMS Word, Excel and Outlook
