The Retirement Readiness Division is the core of the organization responsible for developing, offering, and coordinating educational services to CalSTRS members, employers, and staff. They seek a dedicated individual for the position of Training and Educational Analyst to ensure all staff are equipped to support CalSTRS' members.

Working under the guidance of the Pension Program Manager I, Training Services, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst will be responsible for conducting advanced research, analysis, design, development, evaluation, and delivery of training for members, support staff, and Benefits Specialists. The role may involve up to 25% travel.

Telework Information: The role offers a hybrid model combining in-office and remote work arrangements, with employees expected to be on-site at the West Sacramento Headquarters 2-3 days a week.

Working Conditions

All CalSTRS staff are State of California employees and are subject to California employment taxes and withholdings. Upon hiring, employees must provide a current California address to be used as a remote work location by CalSTRS Human Resources.

This position does not qualify for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment at CalSTRS.

ExamThis role requires a current Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) or Staff Services Analyst (SSA) Exam. If needing to take or renew the exam for AGPA or SSA for eligibility.Background InvestigationPrior to joining CalSTRS, a thorough background investigation (BI) will be conducted. This includes a Personal History Statement and fingerprinting through the Department of Justice to verify criminal and civil records, education, and driving history.CalSTRS Disclosure RequirementsThis position may necessitate compliance with disclosure and disqualification rules relating to financial conflict of interest in government work, including CalSTRS' guidelines and the requirement to disclose specific investment details and use of designated trading platforms for securities transactions.
