What you will be doing:

This position works directly for the Airport Director and oversee ANC's environmental and engineering sections.

Plans, directs and supervises subordinate supervisors for the two sections to facilitate execution of various design, construction and environmental programs.

Has overall responsibility for the Airport's Capital Improvement Program's funding, design, construction and closeout. Serves as the Contract Manager for selected Professional Services Agreements and the Airport's Job Order Construction Contract.

Assists the Airport Director, along with other Deputy Directors, in upper-level management decision making regarding leasing, tenant relations, community relations, and airport management issues and relations with other local, state and federal agencies.

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and six years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series), of which three years were in a supervisory or project manager capacity as an Engineer/Architect 2 or higher or the equivalent.

Special Note:

Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS b).

Persons employed under this agreement must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.

Positions in this class require registration as either an Engineer or an Architect. The employer will designate which professional field is required for each position.
