NANA Worley is hiring for multiple positions at varying classifications from Civil/Structural Engineer to Civil/Structural Specialist Engineersdependent on experience and competencies.

*This position qualifies for the NANA Worley Candidate Referral Program, available only to existing NANA Worley employees*The Civil/Structural Engineer position is responsible for researching, specifying, developing, designing, engineering, or testing components, equipment and/or systems in a multi-discipline engineering and design team.
Individuals are expected to apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques to project assignments.
This position is intended for execution from the NANA Worley offices in Anchorage, Alaska, USA. Hybrid remote-office locations may be considered.
Responsibilities
Researches and analyzes data such as client design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Works with clients to develop a project's scope of work, estimates, and/or schedules.
Reviews and approves project drawings, standards, and specifications.
Develops major equipment and material selection, and construction specifications.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Ensures that all assigned activities and operations comply with applicable codes, regulations, and laws.
Provides support during fabrication and installation phases to ensure engineering documents are followed.

Coordinates activities with other project disciplines involved in fabrication, operation, application, and installation or repair of various materials, products, or systems.

Provides technical direction, support and information to other engineers, designers, and drafters.

Consistently demonstrates professional skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork, communications, operational efficiencies, handling of a client's changing needs, decision making, and analyzing and solving problems.

Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.

Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules and designs for project.
Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.

More senior individuals will have engineering experience including arctic civil/structural design and application of IBC, AWS, ASCE, AISC and national fire codes.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The following describes the education and experience typically required to develop the competencies for each classification level; competencies may be demonstrated with other combinations of education, training, experience, and achievements:
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution required.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience, with oil and gas industry experienced preferred; and
Engineer in Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam preferred.
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; and
4-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry; and
PE/SE license strongly desired
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, 8-15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, and PE/SE license; or
Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience.
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, and PE/SE license; or
Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of experience.
Principal Engineer
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, 20+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, and PE license; or
Bachelor's degree and 25+ years of experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with or education in engineering for Cold regions or Arctic conditions.
Alaska North Slope Oil and Gas industry experience.
Offshore Structures, Telecom Infrastructures, and/or Fire Protection project experience.
Language Ability
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, client, or employees of organization.
Math Ability
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills

A working knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software; Excel spreadsheet software; Outlook e-mail software; and proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD design software.

Experience with Advanced Steel is preferred.
