Our Preliminary Design and Environmental (PD&E) section is unique among other engineering teams in that we are involved in every phase of a project, from project development, to design, and construction.

In this Central Region Design & Engineering Services (D&ES) position, you will act as the PD&E Group Chief as you manage the PD&E section with significant discretion and authority for the full range of professional and administrative actions of the section.

You will be responsible for directing, planning, and supervising the execution of all preliminary design and environmental activities required for federally funded Statewide Transportation Improvement Programs (STIP), Anchorage Metropolitan Transportation Solutions (AMATS), Transportation Improvement Programs (TIP), and State funded Transportation Programs for Central Region.

You will also support the environmental needs of the Central Region Airport Improvement Program (AIP).

Minimum Qualifications


Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and six years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series), of which three years were in a supervisory or project manager capacity as an Engineer/Architect 2 or higher or the equivalent.

Note:

Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS b).

Persons employed under this agreement must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.

Positions in this class require registration as either an Engineer or an Architect. The employer will designate which professional field is required for each position.
