That takes a diverse line of quality products, as well as capabilities, both technical and practical, that are second to none.
It also takes financial strength with a network of facilities and manpower for manufacturing and distribution. In short, it takes having the resources and processes in place to give you the service you deserve.This position is responsible for checking materials and products to ensure that they are free of defects and produced according to internal specifications and external guidelines.
This is a highly detail-oriented role, requiring familiarity with manufacturing and production processes combined with extensive knowledge of specifications and product testing.
Quality Control Specialists work as part of a manufacturing team, maintaining records of defective materials and ensuring that defective parts are repaired, re-tested, or pulled from production.
They also deliver their reports to other team members to address persistent quality issues in manufacturing and identify problem areas.
Implements Company and regulatory quality standards for product manufacturing.~Performs, records, and evaluates chemical and physical tests necessary to control production processes or evaluate quality of in-process and finished goods.
~Audits and reviews product quality data according to existing procedures.
~Maintain compliant and nonconformance processing through records and tracking systems, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
~Reports deviation from quality levels and standard practice to immediate supervisor and shift foreman.
~Develops and implements quality control procedures.
~Develop or update procedures for capture, investigation, and documentation of product complaints.
~Investigate reports of product quality issues and ensure resolution in accordance with Company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
~Ensures that practices being used are in accordance with standard practice data.
~Provides technical assistance to department heads in project and experimental work.
~Identify all rejected material and assist in its reclassification and disposition.
~Provides technical support for experimental and project work by recording and correlating operating data and results.
~Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in metallurgy, chemistry or relevant field; five years of Quality Assurance experience and/or training, preferably in industrial manufacturing; Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
~Language Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
~Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software and Database software.
~Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Flexibility to work different shifts or schedules as requested by management.~Ability to work overtime as required by management.
Ability to walk upstairs, and walk around the plant several times a shift.
