Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician 1 plays a vital role in the quality assurance framework within the facility, assisting team leaders in ensuring adherence to food safety and quality standards. In this role at Ready Pac Produce, Inc., you will align with our mission of promoting healthier eating through the diligent execution of essential quality assurance tasks, including inspections of finished products and sampling for testing purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Safety, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and sanitation protocols.
  • Comprehend and execute product sampling requirements, following established procedures for testing.
  • Collect samples of finished products for necessary testing and maintain accurate logs of submissions.
  • Conduct integrity tests on product seals and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and document any non-conformities, reporting them to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper water levels in designated tanks at the start and throughout shifts.
  • Record leaks, non-conformities, and sample submissions in the quality assurance database.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; basic mathematical skills required.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, cold, and wet production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate stairs frequently.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Work Environment:

This position involves working at heights and near moving machinery, with frequent exposure to cold temperatures. The role may also require working in humid conditions and exposure to various chemicals. The noise level in the workplace is typically high.
