Project Overview:


The Posey Solar project is a 190MWac (228MWdc) solar facility being built in Posey County, Indiana 18 miles west of Evansville.

Bechtel has been selected by Arevon Energy to perform Engineering, Procurement, and Construction services for the project.

Bechtel is currently performing under and Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) with construction slated to begin in early 2024 and is expected to begin operation by 2025.


Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team and support material planning and/or material coordination for a project. Planning involves providing work process and system expertise during the early project stages. Coordination will include communicating material availability, accuracy, and timeliness to the correct location. Your team will ensure the location receives the required materials to complete the project.

#LI-NP1Major Responsibilities:

In coordination with the Supply Chain Manager, develops the Materials Management Plan and reports changes to the Plan, helps resolve deviations from the Plan, and obtains approval during the execution of the project.

Ensures adherence to the Material Responsibility Matrix by all responsible parties. Identifies early on which surplus or unneeded materials should be returned to storage.

Utilizes an Oracle based Material Management Software, integrated into the Digital Supply Chain System inclusive of OTR, SiteSense, ETA, etc.

to schedule deliveries, receive material/equipment, issue UOS&D's, complete reporting, and track deliveries to site.

Where necessary, participates in preparation of project-specific desktop instructions for use by the functional groups regarding automation interfaces on materials related transfers.

Ensures the material identification methodology permits accurate stat using and distribution of materials according to the priority and sequence of construction activities.

Participates in Construction, Project, and/or Vendor / (Sub) Contractor planning meetings to be fully aware of changes in installation plans and priorities.

Implements the planned construction activities and work packaging structure on the project through coordination with Field Engineering, Construction, and/or (Sub) Contractors, and Project Controls.

Implements planned inventory control mechanisms using the Bechtel Procurement System (DSC) tools to ensure that construction material requirements are met.

Coordinates material availability in support of design revisions, rework, contingency or work-around plans.

Coordinates with personnel for materials to be issued direct to the installation area, as opposed to being controlled in storage.

Oversees offload crews and provides instruction on receiving materials/equipment and entering into Oracle based Material Management Software. Coordinate with drivers/dispatchers/brokers for placing appointments and scheduling deliveries.

Education and Experience Requirements:


Level 1 Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experienceLevel 2 Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills:Level 1 Intermediate knowledge of Field Engineering disciplines, work processes, and the deliverables produced.

Intermediate knowledge of inputting requisitions, receipt, storage, and issue of materials into procurement software. Experience with Scheduling of deliveries through OTR (or similar automation tool) and managing logistics for all site deliveries.

Knowledge of vendor, fabricator, contractor, Customer and how outside data systems interact with procurement automation tools, knowledge of Bechtel's DSCS is preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with work packaging, pre-buy methodology, and materials status reporting.

Basic skill in working with and communicating effectively with supervisors of other project functional groups, primarily Subcontractors/Vendors, Engineering, Construction, and Project Management.

Level 2 Knowledge of Field Engineering disciplines, work processes, and the deliverables produced. Advanced knowledge of inputting requisitions, receipt, storage, and issue of materials into procurement software. Experience with Scheduling of deliveries through OTR (or similar automation tool) and managing logistics for all site deliveries.
