Position Summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently looking for full-time Skilled Crew Highway Maintenance Technicians in the Houston, TX area for day, mid, and night shifts. The role involves various tasks related to highway maintenance, signs, guardrail, and drainage, following all regulations and company policies.

Required Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with tools like shovels, weed trimmers, brooms, and small hand tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Roadway maintenance experience.
  • CDL license considered a plus.
  • Operation of equipment like Wheel Loaders, Skidsteers, Fork Lifts, Asphalt Rollers, etc.
  • Familiarity with air compressor operations.
  • Construction or roadway maintenance background.
  • Installation experience with guardrails and signs.
  • Experience in concrete forming and repair.
  • MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses).

Bilingual:

English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Driver & Safety Requirements:

  • Clean driving record and passing a criminal background check.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Adherence to company standards for background checks.
  • Knowledge of local driving regulations.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to use safety equipment and adapt to technology.
  • Skill in using smartphones and applications.
  • Flexibility in adjusting to changing schedules and working conditions.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate tools.

Schedule:

Full-time position with day, mid, and night shifts available, including work during weather events. Typical day shift hours are M-F 7:30-4pm.

Compensation:

Starting pay at $15/hr with opportunities for higher compensation based on experience and certifications.
