Vessel Crewing Coordinator

Position Summary: Act as the key liaison for the Company, interfacing with project and vessel management teams, division operations managers, and the HR department on all aspects related to vessel crewing supply and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete hourly crewing process from start to finish.
- Evaluate union and non-union job applications; recommend suitable candidates to the Dredge managers.
- Maintain communication with selected candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Draft and present employment offers.
- Coordinate pre-employment screening procedures.
- Issue sea service and drug screening letters for hourly vessel staff as required.
- Collaborate with HR on new employment administration protocols.
- Create and maintain individual personnel records in NS Enterprise for authorized and qualified documents.
- Work closely with operations on project initiation, duration, delays, and shutdowns, including equipment and staffing needs for each site.
- Facilitate personnel transfers between vessel and project locations, coordinating with General Superintendent, Dredge managers, and Site Management teams as necessary.
- Gather and maintain evaluations of crew members at the end of projects.
- Possess knowledge of and apply relevant provisions of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Understand and enforce company compensation and benefits policies.
- Manage hourly position requisitions within the ATS career center.
- Engage with union halls and the Talent Acquisition Specialist to fill vacancies.
- Develop and oversee a database of laid-off employees, ensuring ongoing engagement.
- Accountable for metrics related to the crewing process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- This role is office-based; remote work is not an option.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess experience in maritime crewing/recruiting, managing, and supporting the crewing/recruiting process.
- Recent involvement in full-cycle crewing/recruiting.
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR-related field.
- 5+ years of Recruitment/Talent Acquisition experience.
- Proven managerial experience in Crewing/Recruitment/Talent Acquisition for 3+ years.
- Familiarity with union halls is highly desirable.
- Ability to see the 'big picture' and build relationships within the operations team.
- Experience in creating, enhancing, and implementing new processes.
- Capable of driving operational business and providing process-driven solutions.
- Highly organized and disciplined with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Remain calm and flexible under pressure.
- Understand the urgency of filling crewing positions.
- Make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Adept at multitasking and supporting multiple projects.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills, including virtual communication.
- Experience working with employees/employers under collective bargaining agreements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
- Must have reliable transportation and work in an office setting (no remote work).
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
