You will work directly under the Senior Marine Assets Mechanic, conducting various maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, and other systems onboard.


  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform preventative maintenance, tests, and repairs on engines and marine equipment
  • Maintain equipment history records
  • Read and follow maintenance recommendations
  • Participate as a boat engineer as necessary
  • Conduct field repairs and procure necessary parts
  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment
  • Identify and report repairs needed
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area and equipment
  • Keep supervisors informed of work issues
  • Adhere to safety regulations and policies
  • Drive vehicle as required
  • Be prepared for recall to duty in critical incidents
  • Work on average eight hours daily, including weekends and evenings
  • Be CPR certified or obtain certification within the first year

CANDIDATE PROFILE:


The ideal candidate should be organized, disciplined, and focused on maintaining integrity in support of PCCA.


  • Required Education and Credentials:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skilled in marine diesel engine repair
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Valid driver's license

  • Experience and Job Knowledge:
  • Shipboard maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of DC circuits and vessel electronics
  • At least 1 year of marine technician experience
  • Understanding of environmental regulations

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication
  • Ability to write reports and speak effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Adherence to company policies and values

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, and bending
  • Work in varied environments with exposure to weather conditions and mechanical parts
  • Operate mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
