About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Inspector to join our team at Amentum. As an Aircraft Maintenance Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and airworthiness of our aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate all maintenance actions performed by aircraft work centers to ensure compliance with technical manuals, directives, and instructions.
  • Perform final inspections of all maintenance actions, including ejection seats and canopy systems.
  • Review maintenance forms and deficiency data to identify discrepancy trends and problem areas.
  • Assist in drafting and developing work instructions, maintenance instructions, and local maintenance requirement cards.
  • Provide briefings and debriefings to Functional Check Flights (FCFs) with aircrew.
  • Operate NALCOMIS/OOMA database information system.
  • Review incoming technical publications and directives applicable to the Maintenance Department.
  • Qualify and maintain as a subject matter expert (SME) or training instructor as required.
  • Investigate safety incidents and assist in preparing engineering investigation requests, Quality Deficiency Reports, Hazardous Material Reports, and Technical Publications Deficiency Reports.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of AME A School from the Navy/Marine Corps or other branch equivalent.
  • Eight (8) or more years of general experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (4790), NAVAIR, quality assurance procedures, and applicable safety and maintenance manuals.
  • Martin-Baker MK16 ejection seat experience preferred.
  • High proficiency in the use of NALCOMIS OOMA.
  • Completion of NALCOMIS OOMA Quality Assurance Administration course.
  • Three (3) or more years as a licensed A&P mechanic.
  • Ability to write with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Ability to independently research, read, and interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to brief and debrief FCFs with aircrew.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to walk, stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, lift, carry, balance, and reach above shoulder level, push, or pull weight up to seventy (70) pounds.
  • Eye hand coordination and dexterity, required.
  • Color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, required.
  • Normal hearing, required.
  • Exposure to noise hazard.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Handle required/approved hazardous material(s) as per the material safety data (MSD).
  • May require the use of respirator.
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any company/government required qualification, certification, licensing, or security clearance.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Working conditions of a standard shop and hangar to inclement weather and extreme heat.
