The Gutter - Pizza Chef / Kitchen Manager

The Gutter is in search of a talented pizza chef and kitchen manager for our Lower East Side establishment. We need someone with a strong creative spirit, who is willing to roll up their sleeves, and not shy to hop on the cooking line. The ideal candidate should possess at least 5 years of experience. Our kitchen is equipped with a brick-style oven, so proficiency in crafting both Neapolitan and New York style pizzas is a must. You should prioritize customer satisfaction while also grasping the operational aspect of the business. In addition to pizzas, our menu includes wings, pub grub, and more.

COMPANY INFO

The Gutter Bar originated in Williamsburg, Brooklyn back in 2007, featuring 8 vintage bowling lanes, a cozy music spot, and a strong emphasis on American indie craft beer. Over the years, we expanded to our second location in Long Island City, Queens in 2017, and most recently in 2020, we proudly unveiled our third and largest venue in the Lower East Side of Manhattan boasting 12 lanes and a full kitchen with a brick oven pizza.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Crafting high-quality pizzas and other menu items
  • NYC Food Handler Certification mandatory
  • Supervising Kitchen Operations
  • Managing Kitchen Staff Scheduling and Recruitment
  • Handling Inventory and Orders
  • Fostering a positive work environment for all team members
  • Developing Specials and Fresh Menu Additions in collaboration with GM and Upper Management
  • Collaborating with GM and Upper Management on budgeting and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Overseeing and assisting in equipment maintenance
  • Exhibiting integrity, diplomacy, and a dedication to company principles
  • Bilingual - English / Spanish proficiency is a bonus
