Your Opportunity:


The Staff Accountant role is a vital part of our Accounting team, responsible for managing intricate Government accounting procedures independently.

This position demands a profound grasp of Government accounting principles and the capability to navigate the complete project cycle from an accounting standpoint.

Furthermore, the Staff Accountant will be involved in special projects as they grow accustomed to the role.

Your Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing, and revenue tracking.
  • Offer crucial support to Project Managers throughout project setup, modification, execution, monitoring, and closure phases, swiftly identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Engage in joint venture accounting processes, including thorough financial statement preparation and the establishment of new and existing joint ventures in Costpoint.
  • Ensure precise quarterly and annual joint venture reporting to Corporate.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations, including IFRS16 reconciliations.
  • Support tax reporting initiatives by collecting necessary documentation for submission to the tax department or CPA firm.
  • Facilitate subscription revenue setup and processing.
  • Contribute to additional special projects as delegated.

Education and Experience:


  • 3-5 years of prior experience in a similar accounting capacity.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint.
  • Familiarity with various government contract types, such as Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Plus Fixed Fees (CPFF), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP), along with understanding of the FAR, DFARS, JTR, DCAA Audit Guidelines, and GAAP.
  • Experience with Cognos is a bonus.
