The Opportunity:
Under moderate supervision, primarily responsible for documenting inventory by recording additions, disbursements, adjustments, losses and removal of items. Prepares inventory reports by collecting and analyzing information on stock usage. Maintains inventory operations by following policies and procedures and reports changes as needed.

In this role, you will report to the Territory Manager and will work closely with the Avantors Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel and our customers to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Experience:
2 -3 years of experience working in a GMP or pharmaceutical environment is preferred.

Will need to be knowledgeable of chemical handling and have chemical handling experience.- 3 years applicable experience in purchasing/or account managementKnowledge of information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and ExcelSolid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing.

Avantors Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support

In this role you will:


Be responsible for tasks in inventory management (Consumables, chemicals, samples, etc.) and accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off-site and fulfilling the customer's metric reporting.

Supervising slow-moving and dead inventory, conducting cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting.

Oversee the customer's onsite chemical storage program, encompassing tasks such as registering chemical containers, conducting library audits, generating reports, cataloging items, and organizing storage arrangements.

Manage the receipt of incoming chemicals, which involves unpacking, entering data into the chemical management software database, affixing barcodes to containers, and allocating them to appropriate storage areas.

Maintain oversight of chemical expiration dates, hazard classifications, and the process for receiving and stocking chemicals at designated locations.

Conduct thorough inspections of incoming chemical packages and containers to ensure they are free from any external or internal damage upon arrival.

Work purchasing functions including but not limited to back-order reporting, order entry and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, handling quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.

Performs shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections.

Responsible for handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements.
Captures, trends, and analyzes data generated to provide sample metrics updates and improve inventory accuracy.
Adhere strictly to all safety program requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined by the customer.
Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.
