Bespak is a pharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) that offers development and manufacturing solutions for a variety of medications, including medical devices such as pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDI), soft mist inhalers (SMI), dry powder inhalers (DPI), nasal sprays and medical check valves.

 

Our research and development facility in Research Triangle Park, NC, USA is seeking a Lab Coordinator to join our RTP team

 

Responsibilities:

    • Routine inspection, re-stocking, and testing of laboratory safety equipment (e.g. spill kits, eyewashes, safety showers, etc.)
    • Daily/weekly instrumentation functionality (e.g. balances, pipettes, pH meter, etc.)
    • Re-stocking of laboratory consumables and general chemicals
    • Sample and chemical receipt, labeling, storage, and disposal
    • Routine cleaning and storage of laboratory glassware and equipment
    • Solution preparation and documentation to support analytical testing activities
    • Continuous improvement (5S) activities to improve laboratory organization
    • Receives and labels testing materials via the LIMS system
    • Assists with maintaining laboratory and chemical supplies inventory
    • Receipt of materials into the building, answer the receiving door and use chain of custody process, and follow site SOPs including supporting sample/standard management in the warehouse.
    • Notebook control which includes issuing, removing from circulation, and setting up for projects as needed.
    • Support shipping, assist with sample readiness, sample label and receipt activities as needed
    • Document, maintain, and collect equipment in support of calibration activities
    • Document archiving and scanning as needed.
    • May be required to participate in site committees (e.g. Safety, Training, etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned.
        

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Graduate or Associate Level degree (Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related science) required
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of laboratory compliance
  • Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
    • Hours must be worked between Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm
  • Ability to follow procedures, including safety, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (e.g. laboratory coat, closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail
  • Availability for at least a 6-month period, with preference given to someone who can commit to a 12-month period


Physical Requirements:

The Lab Coordinator I must possess the ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours a day and carry up to 25 pounds. This position involves repetitive motion of the arm, wrist, hand and fingers with the ability to feel and handle work materials for up to 8 hours per day. The position also requires the ability to carry out tasks involving extensive reaching, crouching and bending. Day to day tasks may involve handling of and the ability to identify hazardous chemicals and materials.
