As the Dollar Channel Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving national account objectives (sales, margin, distribution, and trade spend) on assigned brands within the Dollar Channel.
Responsibilities:
- Achieving assigned quarterly and annual sales and profit objectives, with a strong focus on Dollar Channel performance.
- Attaining distribution objectives on assigned brands and executing new product initiatives to drive growth.
- Collaborating with the Sales Director to build quarterly and annual business plans tailored to the Dollar Channel environment.
- Utilizing POS Data and Nielsen ROM Data for analytics to manage day-to-day business and prepare for category line reviews and customer meetings.
- Developing ideas for new products or packaging innovations tailored specifically to the Dollar Channel to drive growth and increase market share.
- Providing direction and collaborating with the category business analyst and insights manager to develop line reviews and presentations for the customer.
- Building strong relationships with merchandising staff on assigned brands to optimize visibility and sales.
- Identifying opportunities for gap fill and potential losses, leveraging analytical insights.
- Analyzing customer scorecards for reporting to buyers and the B&G executive team.
- Evaluating current category planograms and competitive items for potential business opportunities within the Dollar Channel.
- Collaborating with the category manager on sales and production forecasting of assigned brands.
- Managing promotional activity and pricing in AFS for assigned brands, ensuring competitiveness in the Dollar Channel.
- Developing recommendations for customer events and promotions to optimize sales growth, utilizing available POS, syndicated, and consumer insights data.
- Interface with the B&G marketing and sales planning teams to ensure maximum business opportunities with accounts.
- Developing and assisting in targeted media campaigns and promotions to drive brand awareness and sales.
- Soliciting new business opportunities within the Dollar Channel to expand market presence and drive growth.
Experience, Skills, Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of food manufacturing sales experience required, with specific experience in national chain account responsibility, cross-functionally, Dollar Channel experience required.
- Experience with broker management is a plus but not required.
- Financial acumen and previous P&L experience are required.
- Strong customer-facing selling, presentation and negotiation skills.
- A good understanding of syndicated data information sources such as AC Nielsen or IRI.
- Strong analytical, presentation, project management, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Nielsen, and/or applicable proprietary retailer systems
- Experience with trade marketing, sales planning, and enterprise systems.
- Excellent customer service, administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
